The best protection for an idea is to keep it secret and don't tell
anyone.  Patents
are only enforcable by the extremely rich anyway.  I prefer to publish
them (like
the EDN idea)... then I have some proof that it was MY idea, and can claim
all the
credit (and none of the profit)    ;^P

s-diy is the greatest forum for ideas. Usually people are good about
giving credit where
credit is due, occasionally someone makes a variant of someone else's
circuit, then
'forgets' that it did not arise in a vacuum.

So how about that 'ladder filter' I invented...       <bfg>
