One pretty good reference I have is a book I recently found at one of the 
bookstore chains.  It's "Chaos, Bifurcations and Fractals Around Us", 
byWanda Szemplinska-Stupnicka.  It's just 100 pages, and it emphasizes 
geometric pictures.  Fractal structure is found in the basin of attraction 
of certain attractors.  The book uses minimal math, with emphasis on 
pictures.  There's still a lot of concepts and terminology to learn.
