The erase head will be a poor choice, the gap will be larger (worse HF response)
and
the coil impedance will be much lower.
The head with four pins is undoubtedly a stereo head, I'd suggest using only one
half of the head.
Tape heads nead a really MAJOR preamp to work... they have lower output (usually)
than magnetic
cartridges
