I bought a new BK Precision 20 MHz dual trace, with probes for
US$300.00 2 or 3 years ago.  This would be considered a "basic" scope
for analog audio work.

There are "hamfest" parties, like a swap meet, where people sell test
equipment.  There's also ebay - if you do that, but that appears more
of a "pig in a poke" situation.

Do yourself a favor and get the best scope you can afford.  IMHO, the
scope is the single most useful electronics test tool you will own. 
When I play with electronics, the scope is always powered up.
