Hi Roy,
Thanks for the encouraging words. You are right about wires becoming disconnected. I have found one so far that is
disconnected, but where do I reconnect it to? Difficult to say without a schem. There are at least 4 different points
within reach but touching the wire to any of them does not seem to do anything! And tracing the wire back through the
harness will be a nightmare.
They did have servicing in mind when they designed this beast though - the top part containing the voice tabs swings
upwards on a hinge so you can get to the keyboard below. And the upper keyboard manual in turn hinges upward so you can
get at some of the circuitry below. Unfortunately the place where the vibrato is most likely located is completely
hidden from view so a major disassembly will be required I think. I come from the "trial & error" school of repair
(power it on and start poking at things until somnething happens!) so this will be difficult to debug. Maybe I should
just junk all the electronics and use the keyboards for some kind of synth - they have 5 contacts per key!
