According to datasheet TLP112 is faster than MOC207 that I DID get to work with MIDI, so I guess it's not the same opto.
If worried about price, use 6N13something, they are about $1 or 2.
TLP112 is more expensive. I wanted it simply because its small outline (something like SOIC6)
