Hi,
The other day I was given a 24x24 pin matrix by a friend. It had been
used in a broadcast mixing console to direct control signals and on-air
lamps to different mic's and control rooms.
The matrix looks very rigid and of good quality, the brand is "Oxley
developments company limited - Ulverston - Cumbria - Enggland".
When I opened it up I found that it was modular in construction, it
consists of sections of 6x7, 6x10, 7x10 and 10x10 and also dual layer so
one can patch in "3D"!
There is two identical layers on top of each other and at least three
different types of pins.
One typ (with a diode or resistor inside) connects layer one X and Y.
One type (without diodes or resistor) connects layer two X and Y.
One type (without diodes or resistor) connects layer one X and Y and
layer two X and Y, but does not connect the two layers.
I guess that you could have pins that connect to several layers.
Nice find, wonder what to do with it? The pins are said to be very
expensive, about 30$ a piece!
I have about 12 of each exept the dual one wich I only have one of!
/daniel
