Why not have a special button on the modular that enters a "programming
mode"? Tap that button once, followed by any source or destination button,
and you would see all the other connected sources and destinations
illuminated by an LED. If you want to add more connections, simply tap the
associated button for that source or destination. If you want to remove a
particular connection, simply tap that associated button. Once the
connections have been selected, tap the "programming mode" switch one more
time, to leave the programming mode.
I would suggest using 2 different colors for the source and destination
LEDs. If you want to distinguish connections that are normally strictly
either audio or CV, you might have 4 colors of LED:
Audio Source - Red
CV Source - Yellow
Audio Destination - Green
CV Destination - Blue
I think this would be a nice interface concept. Does anyone else agree?
