how about something like the nord modular, but taken a step further? instead
of the little red synth, you'd have a real modular.
use software/ a laptop to save patches to and to have a virtual
representation of your modular, like in sound diver, but with the looks of
the real thing. if you go the matrix route, there's no worry about patch
cables. have the 2 totally interconnected, i.e. everything you do on the
computer is done on the synth and vice versa. you'd need an interface box to
convert all digital signal movements to cv, and make everything on the real
modular cv-controllable. and of course it needs to have motorized
faders..;-)
