ok, today will be an 'solder all connections' day. i'm willing to give it
one last shot..
and yeah, i got rid of that 12w iron, it was actually a neat thing with a
very tiny tip. but it didn't do bigger connections like on jack plugs very
well. i now have a 20 w weller that i've had for years..
first some more coffee and then i'll heat the iron up again..;-)
