Hi Envis,

To tell you the truth, I never even knew there WAS an ARP Soloist. I'd heard
of the Pro Soloist, of course. So for the benefit of group education, here's
a link

http://www.vintagesynth.org/arp/prosoloist.shtml

Below the picture of the well known Pro Soloist, there is a picture and a
brief description of the earlier Soloist.

This must be a fairly rare bird! I've never seen one anywhere. As far as
replacing the foam, you might want to get your hands on some various samples
of conductive foam and see what works. This topic has come up before, so
hopefully someone here will have better information. You might also want to
check something like this:

On a somewhat related (tangentally, anyway) topic, while doing a search for
"pressure sensor foam synthesizer", I found this cool paper on the "Musical
Applications of Electric Field Sensing." It includes several very
interesting examples of using hands, cello bows, and other goodies for
tracking and control along with some circuit suggestions. Very inspiring
stuff!

and here's another one for 'alternate controller' fans

Tim (is 'tangentally' a word?) Servo
