Hey Peter,

If you're interested in the character of the stepped output, the samples on
my Birth of a Synth page for 11 April, 2004 have a number of different
applications.

The "Landing on a Different Planet" one uses the smooth output to control
the probability while the trigger output fires the EG and the stepped output
controls various things.

The "Bang the Gong" sample uses the trigger output to fire the EG
that...er...bangs the gong.
