JH and Michael,

Thanks for the explanation and app notes, now it all makes sense!

I'm very tempted (but not gonna do it) to take this thing apart and see just
how they are varying that resistance.  The pedal itself has the same feel as
the old sustain pedal that I had (which was just a switch).  It has the same
short travel that the damper pedal on a piano has, so I don't think a pot is
being rotated in there.

I'm checking out the CV processor as I write this.....
