Hi,
The 2044 is a 24dB LPF, and its not easy to do much else with it. All the
various implementations from Emulator I, Korg, PPG, Cat SRM, simply vary the
capacitor values and how Q is controlled. There is a nice article in
Polyphony that describes how to use a 3080 to get the reverse log Q control
working, I have the PDF for anyone who wants it. The 2044/2045/2047 are
closed designs, however the 2040 is open and can do all sorts of wild
things!

I will have a PCB available soon for the 2044 as a module (2040 is available
now), and if you need new 1K 3600ppm Tempcos (not 3500ppm) as used in all
the SSM designs, I have them for sale (custom manufactured by Precision
Resistors). After all that, the 2044 is a fine low pass filter.

P.S. The MIF can use a 2040 not a 2044...
