I did this. The results weren't real impressive. The piezo had to be driven hard
to get a good feed to the spring. I wasn't overly impressed. The whole thing is
still in the work shop in my "get back to" pile. I did buy a small slinky to
replace the shorter spring. I also have a cheap zoom tube. Maybe I should try
the piezo with that.

Also in my parts pile is 40 ft of PVC pipe, a speaker and a few microphones. I'm
going to try an acoustic delay line, when I get around to it. Theory says that
maybe the bass will be attenuated less than the treble.
