I haven't personally heard this, but it's posssible. In any event, a synth
that doesn't make good "percussive/blip/bleep type sounds" is partly due to
slow envelopes. If you can't get a really fast attack or decay you can't
make percussive sounds. If the Fatman indeeds suffers from this, I'm sure
you could tweak some resistor and cap values in the envelope generators and
make the rates faster.
Also, as far as bleeps and blips, you're probably going to want tri or sine
waves in the oscillators. Saws and squares will be more buzzy than bleepy
:). Don't overlook a self-oscillationg VCF as a sine-wave source.
Have fun with your decision making. Both synths look like a lot of fun.
