Hi All,
Larry Hendry just pointed out to me that I my post about the Simmons 8:2 is misleading. And after
re-reading it I am ashamed to say he is quite right - obviously fingers were in motion before brain
was in gear :~)
The 8:2 uses MIDI program change messages only to change patches. It does *not* use MIDI note
information to set levels directly.
However, there is a total of 64 patches, so it can be used to store different channel level settings
for different songs and switch between them using MIDI. I'm not sure if that was what the original
poster had in mind? It also has a neat LFO feature that can do panning and sweeping some of the
filter settings - a kind of pseudo phasing.
(Thanks Larry)
Peter
