[sdiy] Semi-OT: 220 to 110 volts converter

Hi all, just wondering about the basic to build a 220v
to 110v converter.. It needs like 35W output at least,
is it all about transformers or is there any way to do
it without having to buy any "special" stuff (using
regular components)...
