First... shouldn't this thread be titled
NTE arrgh ???

(i always thought of ahhhhhh! as a pleased sound...
:^)

Second... NTE is in the business of selling their
parts
and does not care to help you cross the other way
around. This is no different from the ECG and SK
semiconductor lines that went before them.

The intent is for a repair depot that will stock a few
NTE parts to replace MANY OEM parts. Usually the subs
will be 'close enough' to make the repair work, often
not.

You 'can' look for parts that cross to the same NTE
part
and use that to presume that they also cross to each
other. It has some risks. If you do not understand
WHY
the designer chose the original part, you are on shaky
ground.

NTE is strictly repair oriented. I avoid them whenever
possible if the actual parts are available.
