I tend to agree with you, Gene.  However, I really do think the 
hardware-based VA's work and sound better than any of the software/plug-in types.  I've got 
a Roland JP-8080 that I just love -- a lot more than my MKS-80 Super Jupiter, 
actually.  That being said, I'm definitely not selling my soldering iron.

P.S. - The Yamaha FS1R is a fantastic instrument!  It almost seems like a 
waste of its talent to make it emulate a boring old Minimoog.
