[sdiy] Fuzz

Hi,
Long time since I posted on this list, but I've been reading, laughing,
thinking and reading again! :-) 

I tested this rather simple fuzz circuit:

But I have run into problems, that I'm pretty sure you can help me to
solve. I can't get the circuit to work. I tested with my scope and I have a
nice signal at Q1 base, and a signal at Q2 base but there is no signal at
Q2 emitter or collector. So I tried to replace Q2 with a new one, but that
didn't help. Then I discovered that I had put a 22k resistor instead of
22ohm (in some versions there is a 220ohm instead) at the Q3 emitter, maybe
this did destroy the new Q2?

I don't really know how to continue to trouble shoot the circuit. Do you
have any suggestions?
