At a place I used to work at, we did some "unofficial"
experiments once to determine what would and wouldn't
erase 2732 EPROMs.  We got one of those black light
tubes from Spencer Gifts and tried it.  It didn't work
worth a darn.  Just leaving the EPROMs in the sun
actually worked better.  (It took about one spring day's
worth of sunlight to fully erase them.  We re-burned
these and they worked fine.  We never did get one fully
erased with the black light.)
