 Thanks, Michael. I think you got me convinced *not* to build this kind of
thing from scratch. It might make more sense to use a
hardware/software MIDI sequencer with a tap tempo function and get
trig/gate signals based on the MIDI output... (Would need a MIDI to
trig/gate/CV gizmo).

 The cash is just flying as I'm putting together my modular synth, so I
suppose I'll have some time deciding on sequencer options...
