[sdiy] Tap tempo & pulse/clock ideas needed

 Hi!

I am looking for a clock (trigger pulse) generator with a tap tempo
function. I imagine that I would want this clock to be able to output
"musical" multiples of the tapped beat frequency for direct triggering of a
sequencer, ADSR events etc. I also have the external triggering of my Korg
Polysix's arpeggiator in mind here.
How big a deal is it to build something like this?
Any kits or commercial products I should check out? What old or
new MIDI sequencers have tap tempo AND trig pulse output? I don't have any
kind of sequencer (yet) but if possible it would be nice to have one that
could sync MIDI and non-MIDI (the to-be modular synth, vintage organ drum
computers, the Polysix arp etc.) instruments.

Also, I think I'll be needing a simple "pulse processor", for jobs like
creating trigger pulses from say, a square wave coming from an LFO.

 Any ideas???

TIA,

Thomas Dunker
