Hi Fred!

Yes I think there is quite a difference in the sound between the TO-92
Plastic case 2N2222, and the TO-18 Metal can 2N2222A Transistors when used
in the Synthacon Filter, (although I have no idea why? LOL!)

The metal cans are Definitely the ones that I use...

www.mouser.com sells these, you just have to put a letter "A" at the
end of the part number, (2N2222A).
