Call me One Note Johnny, but I must say... The PSIM-1 will do some or all of
what you want. *Will* do, meaning soon but not today. The MIDI features are
still in development. (Does this qualify as DIY? You have to write your own
software.)
Once a MIDI output add-on is available, then the PSIM-1 will send MIDI LFOs
or whatever you ask it to do. The LFO frequencies could be controlled using
the CV inputs. Or...
If and when a MIDI *input* becomes available, a whole world of input options
will open up. This should also make Andrew Scheidler's ultimate sequencer
possible, right Andrew? :-)
It will also output 4 CVs and respond to 4 CV inputs, perhaps more in the
future.
A MIDI out submodule has reportedly been seen in captivity (and we've heard
examples of it in action), but I'm not sure about the MIDI in. You could DIY
the MIDI features if you are so inclined.
