Tim,

This is a good point. I think there are more things that go into 
perceptions of good sounding oscillators than the VCO itself. If one 
patches a synth to open up the VCF and the VCA "wide" and listen to the 
sound of one VCO, I don't think there is a lot of differences in the 
sound of analog VCO's. The CEM3340's fame was it being really stable and 
having a great waveform. I think the 3374 is right up there (yeah, it's 
in the Matrix-12 as well). It is too easy to bring up a patch on a synth 
and say "Great VCOs!" when one is hearing two or three together along 
with a filter in the audio path.
