Hello...
Has anyone considered the possiblities of 'optical
distortion?'

That is, taking a sound wave, and converting it to
light (via a laser). Then through lenses, or applying
heat (which causes things to shift in lasers), some
distortion to the laser light could be acheived-this
light would then be made to a sound signal again
through a photoreceptor.

The general idea is taking a fiber optic phone line,
and making the tranmission 'scratchy' with the
aforementioned lenses, heat or combonation thereof.
Has anyone explored this concept/is it possible to
make a noticible change in sound?

Thanks
