For resistors I have nine plastic bins.  The first bin holds the
plastic bags (as you would get from DigiKey) of all resistor 
values that start with one (100 ohm, 1k, 100k, 1Meg)

The second bin holds all resistor values starting with two
(220, 2.2k, 220k, etc)

All bags are labeled since I'm partially color blind and can't read 
resistor color codes to save my life....
