[sdiy] I finally did some SDIY this weekend

Acceleration / velocity probably is less important than you'd think
either one will work... all you really need is a final value for the
impact.

I made a hi-hat pedal to work with the DrumKat system... granted that is
easier because they look for resistance. I used a photocell / mask inside
a MOOG (DeArmond) CV pedal. Yes kids... I HACKED UP A MOOG !!!

I used a heavy, adjustable spring to get the right feel. The photocell is masked

when the pedal is full UP and is uncovered as the pedal goes down. The rate
of resistance drop is sensed (by them :^). It will do the "half-open" and
"splash"
sounds like the HatKAT it is supposed to emulate.

I would definatly recommend OPTICAL. Any pot will wear out, especially with a
REAL drummer on it. I don't know if Mssr. Peasant is a real drummer. If he can
break
his own DIY kit in... let's say TWO hits.... he's for real.

What can you say if the drummer drools from both corners of the mouth ?

[ the stage is level ]

H^) harry (also does diy drums)
