   Hi list,

   Just a few comments:

> IMO 0805 parts are the preferred size.

   If you are going to hand-solder, I totally agree.  If I were going to 
_kit_ SMT, I'd use nothing smaller than 1206.

> 0603 don't seem to save space compared to 0805.

   If you are using just a few resistors, I guess not, but I find that in 
dense designs, 0603 is the preferred size.

> I find 0402 doable but due to its small size much slower to work with.

   You're brave.  I don't think I'd ever attempt to hand-solder those.

> SO ICs are no problem either, just a bit practice.

   SOIC is easy.  It's those darn MSOPs that are a pain.  :)
