Always hard to follow the meanderings of electronic products and
manufacturer's:

You read:
"Allegro, operating under that name for the past decade, is the
successor to Sprague Semiconductor Group"...
So it does sound as if Sprague, as a firm at least bifurcated it's
product or structure.

It could be that they have moved or sold off
some of their product lines. I still see them
listed as Vishay Sprague at:
http://www.vishay.com/company/brands/sprague/
It looks like tantalum caps (cringe) are their
stock in trade now.
