By "symmetrical output", do you mean square wave input > square wave output?  
Does it work with any frequency, or are there frequency selective components 
involved?  It sounds like this could be a good alternative to the typical 
octave divider circuit.  What pitch interval does it make?  (I'm hoping that it's 
a perfect 4th or 5th, and not the dreaded tritone)
