[sdiy] frequency counter

i've got a simple counter, but it's so simple that it only had 3 digits 
(not even fractions of a Hz). so that would be worthless for this 
purpose. I started with the intention of tuning synths with a better 
version, but just like the other people mentioned, you can tune them 
fine with another synth. I use a *software* modular synth and just patch 
out a vco. I play my analog vcos at the same time and listen for the 
beating.

I've been meaning to finish the upgraded version of that counter, but I 
still don't think it would be any better (if as good) as a software 
synth oscillator, or some other digital oscillator.
