I agree. To be useful the white noise and other sources should be DC coupled.
Unfortunately this makes stability difficult to design in. My final noise source
was designed and built with the noise coupled through AC circuits with a 3 db
point of 1/100th of 1 Hertz.

I have been using 6.3 V zeners as my noise source. They are inexpensive and
every one has put out a good level of noise.
