It is common in such forums to realize and accept sarcasm. When someone 
places this ";-)" at the end of a line, it's a wink, meaning sarcasm, 
or that you're joking. As an American I realize that our collective 
self image has been tarnished by recent events, and that we are all a 
little touchy when singled out, but if we lose our sense of humor, we 
truly have lost our last friend.
