You could put some comparators on the inputs. Like opamps with a 100k 
resistor going into the gates, that should be enough.  I guess it's not 
all that simple after that though. I think it sounds really cool, 
because it has no leakage. Of course it isn't as subtle as a real 
balanced modulator, sort of just on and off.
