AD633 there (straight from the data sheets, plus various peripheral addons).
If you are worried about carrier bleedthrough, it is the way to go, IMHO.
But if you want 'character', why, you can use anything, depending what
character you want!
The diy-guitar effect people have various, including diodes.
Also I think Ken Stone's site has a diode one.
