[sdiy] Guitar Synth boards ready...

Very interesting, Mr. Bissell.

On octave hop, I had an issue with that on my Roland GR-50. One thing I
noticed is that the synth was better at tracking the higher strings and
responded to them with much less delay, so I thought I would replace
strings 5 and 6 with strings that are half the normal diameter and tune
them up an octave. This worked like a charm, because the tuning is
essentially the same, so standard fingerings still work. In the synth
module, there is a separate setup for each string, so it was easy to
cause strings 5 and 6 to output an octave lower than the string is
actually producing. This results in a synth sound that is octave correct
and fast enough to be useful. And when the standard pickups are mixed in
with the synth output, I get an almost 12 string effect. I most often
use this with the synth set for a bass sound I designed.
