[sdiy] [OT] Help needed with HP 6237B Triple Output Power Supply

I recently purchased an HP 6237 Triple Output Power Supply. The unit is in
pretty good shape cosmetically, but it has obviously had some good use on a
bench in a company some where.

The unit powers up fine. The power light comes on. The voltage meter seems to
work correctly as you turn the voltage knob. The meter selector knob appears
to work correctly.

The problem is the output voltages. Are around when voltage is set at maximum
for range (either +20V or +18V) 0.1V and around -0.5V for the -20V lug. And
they are slowly drifting downward. Tested with Fluke 87 III. When the voltage
knob is turned, the output voltage does change in a linear fashion.

Is this easily fixable? What should I test first? Any suggestions or guidance
would be of great benefit.

I am not an electronics wiz (obviously), but I can follow directions well. I
think I can return the unit, but I would rather try and fix the problem myself.

Feel free to reply off-line.

Thanks!
Todd
