Spot on, Nate - a dead battery and resultant empty RAM in a Sixtrak will
silence it (mine was like that when I acquired it).
There's an easy way to check - Sequential provide a shortcut for setting up
a basic patch. Make sure you're in PROGRAM mode (as opposed to PARAM or
VALUE) then hold down the RECORD button and press 8 (eight) on the keypad.
