Hi there,

Ive eventually gotten arround to looking at this p5 here.

Ive done some user tests, and found some odd results. Sufficiently odd that
i hope theyll meen somthing to someone.

Right, its a 3.2 witout midi.

On power up, it goes to bank one patch one. With the preset and unison
lights lit.

It appears to function ok in this mode. Obviously in unison i cant properly
test the voices, but all keys play with low note priority. Dials work.
Interestingly neither of the 'keyboard' buttons light (all other leds on the
synth work fine) although both alter the sound as your expect (the filter
tracking, or osc b tracking)

Now as soon as the synth is taken out of unison mode, or the preset button
taken off, it starts behaivn oddly.

Most keys dont play. The few that do dont seem to respond properly. And
even in this, the key that works moves about, ie one key stops and another
may start. Its nothing like every 5th key or anything like that either, or
every 5th press of the same key etc.

Ive turned evreything off now, so i cant easily check, but i was testing
this afternoon, and im pretty sure that even in this 'near dead' state the
synth responds fine to cv and gate triggers (admitadly in monophony)
Although dont take this as fact - i could be getting mixed up here.

Now as i said, symtoms like that must surely point towards somthing? Anyone
got any comments? Oh, and what sort of symtoms might i expect when the
battery runs out - nothing special im presuming? (no it hasnt leaked - i
checked)

I think the os chip was marked as 95 or 9.5 too, if that makes any odds?

Thankyou, Julian
