Now that's damn funny... :)
Glen's got a point here, though.... If you have to jump through hoops to
get a good sound out of vinyl, it's so much easier to just pop in a CD and
be done with it. CDs are archivable, re-burnable, and damn near
indestructible compared to vinyl. Anytime you have a media that has to have
physical contact in order to be read, it's prone to problems...
I don't have to wash my CDs in anti-static wash before I play them, nor do I
have to put pennies on the tone arm, or any other such nonsense. I put them
in, and they play. Just the ease of handling alone is enough to give them
an edge over vinyl in my book.
Not that vinyl doesn't have it's place... but its really a niche item, for
DJs and analog fetishists. Does it sound better than CD? Maybe... but I
personally don't notice enough of a difference to make it worth it for me...
YMMV.
Now stop picking on Glen... It's really not (well, shouldn't be) that hard
to play a record, and you're pissing him off with your analog elitism.....
