There were probably those who lamented the switch from lacquer to bakelite
as well ... as well as dropping the speed from 78 rpm.   ;^P

and BTW... for those who said that the "worst CD was better than the best vinyl" or

some such thing... I have some CD candidates I'd like to introduce you to...

The first three "Deep Purple" albums released on CD might change your opinions
(Shades of Deep Purple, Book of Talysein, Deep Purple).  I have a Bob Marley
CD that is butt ugly as well ...  In fact it was so bad I threw the CD
away...saving the
jewel case as the only worthy part of the package.

Its good to know that I have Norman Lear to thank.  Otoh my wife actually likes
"All in the Family"   :^P

What a wonderful thread.  Its a little OT, but in a polite way and nobody is
getting
bent out of shape. Maybe we could cross post to AH and watch the death threats
begin :^P
