Hi there,
I know this has been done before, but i still dont know...
Im fairly novice, and am just about getting to the point where i actually
think a scope may well be useful. There have been a couple of times
recently where my digital multimeter hasnt given me all the info i need.
As i dont really know yet what i actually want, i dont want to spend big
money at all. Id rather buy something cheap and 2nd hand, and then when i
work out all the features i wish it had, then spend.
But even in this, i dont really know what im doing. I suspect ebay (uk)
will be where i end up. I see stuff there being sold for not a lot of
cash - but then if it dosnt do anything useful, then itll be another case
where cheap dosnt actually mean good value.
The things ive come across recently that i thought a scope would be useful
for was trying to figure out the nature of the outputs of a cr-8000s
sequencer board, and then today it would have been an easy way of finding
out if the 101 pot that i repaired was giving a smooth output or not, before
soldering it back in.
So, nothing fancy, but then im guessing that ill find more uses when i know
what im doing with one a bit more.
To cut to the point - What should i be looking out for, and what sort of
monies should i be looking at spending (2nd hand)? Its kinda got to be
pretty cheap for me to justify the gamble that ill actually use it that
often : )
Any info much appreciated.
Cheers, Julian
