That's definitely a very good practice. There is an amazing amount of energy
stored in something spinning around at 20,000 RPM.
Watch your clothes when using power tools as well. I had a dremel bit catch the
loose fitting shirt that I was wearing at the time. Suddenly the tool wanted to
start carving a hole in my belly, only prevented at the last moment by my
pushing it away from me as hard as possible and the shirt balling up and
stalling the tool. So I was left frantically searching for the power switch
before I lost my grip and the evil machine resumed it's attempted appendectomy.
Finally I yanked the power cord out of the wall.
The only damage was a small ragged hole in my shirt and the shaft of the
grinding attachment bent 90 degrees. But it was quite the learning experience.
