[sdiy] Cutting rotary encoder shafts??

If the shaft is metal... hold the end you want to cut off in a vice...
then hacksaw off the remaining portion.
Dremel tool with abrasive cut off wheel is good also... but
in either case, watch out for heat buildup. Maybe cut is a few sessions
a few minutes apart.
