here's something funny:
    how many people from the local "symphony" are actually from your town?
or even your county?
    i know as a fact, that the local symphony/orchestra [about 20 to 30
people], from my town, consists of only five residents of the town that i
live in. the rest are all hired, i've seen what they are making... and if i
started learning how to play any orchestral instrument right now, said i've
been playing for years, i could probably get in and make quite a bit more
per month than i do now working retail.
    i doubt they would be able to tell the difference between the people who
actually know how to "play" and the person just following along.
