Intersil is going to discontinue production of the CA3080 in 2005.

This happened on July 1st...

The CA3280E is still in full production, as of right now.

So, the OTA that started it all is about to become history...

If I remember correctly, doesn't NJM produce this part as well?

Rather ironic....I designed my first CA3080 into something for the first
time ever just last month....and then it gets discontinued. I bought 100
of them from Jameco three weeks ago, although, I did not know it was
discontinued at the time...

Anyway, heads up, if you plan on using this part in the future, you may
want to stock up a bit on it...

Although, keep in mind, the NJM13600 and NJM13700 are basically identical
(the OTA portion that is), so it is not like there won't be an equivelent part.
