[sdiy] Yet Another Daft CMOS Question

So I discover in a practical way, the I cannot use a FET device as a VCR
for controlling large signals. I need up to 3 volts to do what I want to
what a CMOS linear amp (powered at 5 volts), but what if I use really a low
voltage supply? Spec for CD4xxx says 3 to 18 volts, but I'm quite sure
that this means for use as logic devices, not as linear amps. Before I
start building a regulated low voltage supply, I though I might ask here if
there is already experience. What happens in a 4069UB or 4007UB when it's
run at 1.0 volt? Or less? I'm not kidding, I think if I could get the
supply voltage down to .2 volts or .15 volts, it might do what I want. I'm
sure this is asking for other new problems, like noise...
